Note: Discovery World Furniture uses a combination of natural solid wood and Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF) in the manufacture of its white finish furniture and white bunk beds. That is a good thing! This blend of solid wood and MDF construction helps to maintain the overall structural integrity of the bunk bed’s solid wood construction and combines it with the benefit of a white paint friendly MDF surface.

Though the white finishes found on these bunk beds with storage are beautiful and elegant, the truth is that any opaque white finish that is applied to real, solid wood bedroom furniture pieces may be somewhat variable and rough. This finicky finish can be prone to more readily displaying minor imperfections and blemishes that result from the natural wood construction process itself. The natural expansion and contraction of the wood, sap, or knots in the bunk bed components are likely to cause these blemishes and are sometimes visible in the final bedroom furniture product. Although Discovery World Furniture carefully selects the solid wood lumber pieces with the lowest number of knots for the manufacturing of its white bedroom furniture product line, knots themselves are inevitable. With these knots, and their high sap resin content it can be expected that some discoloration of the white bedroom furniture finish (typically a yellowing) may occur in conjunction with mild cracking or chips in these areas. Minor touch up should be expected.
